Contraction in Architecture Billings Index Continues

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Architecture Billings Index has reverted into negative territory for the last two months. As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate nine- to twelve-month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects reported the March ABI score was 49.6, up slightly from a mark of 48.8 in March. McCarthy Completes $49.4M Design-Build of New Waterfront Park, Parking Structure

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Thousands of San Diego, California residents and visitors turned out recently for the day-long slate of festivities celebrating the grand opening of the new San Diego County Administration Center Waterfront Park, located on a prime, 12-acre site along Pacific Coast Highway in downtown San Diego. McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., led the successful execution of the $49.4-million design-build project. McCarthy Lab Renovation Project includes Unique Equipment for Washington University in St. Louis

St. Louis, Mo. — McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. served as construction manager for a research laboratory fit-out project recently completed at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. McCarthy worked with Washington University to finish the interior and install specialized equipment in an existing 15,000-square-foot space in Rudolph Hall on the Danforth Campus.
