FMI Releases Q4-2013 Construction Outlook Report

RALEIGH, N.C. — FMI released its Q4-2013 Construction Outlook. The forecast predicts 2013 to end with 7 percent growth for the construction industry as a whole. Final statistics for construction-put-in-place will be available April 2014. Select market predictions include : Residential — Forecasts show residential construction ending 2013 with 18 percent growth. Multifamily construction has been particularly strong in the past two years with growth of 48 percent in 2012 and 38 percent in 2013. Big Ten Conference Opens Swanky HQ, Museum

ROSEMONT, Ill. — With 12 institutions, 280 national championships and 120 years of historic intercollegiate sports, the Big Ten Conference will continue its mission of “honoring legends and building leaders” in a new $20-million, 50,000-square-foot headquarters located in Rosemont, Ill. The new mixed-use HQ will feature a 3,500-square-foot interactive museum on the first floor entitled, “Big Ten Experience,” showcasing past and present legends, and is scheduled to open in early 2014.
