Austin High School Celebrates Historical Campus’ Grand Opening

Upon recent completion of modernizations to its historic campus, Austin High School hosted its grand opening ceremony. The school is the oldest continuously operating public high school in the state of Texas. Throughout the duration of the project, it was crucial that the addition and renovations did not diminish the rich history of the campus, but rather, enhanced it. CHICAGO, Ill. – Builtech Services LLC has been awarded a contract to perform the construction on the historic Howard Building on Randolph Street in the West Loop for Sterling Bay in Chicago, Illinois. Located at 1000 W. Randolph St. in Chicago’s Fulton Market District, the adaptive re-use project entails the rehabilitation and renovation of the two-story, 15,500-square-foot building for new retail tenants, which include Starbucks and Anthropologie. Linbeck Group Finishes Sunset Coffee Building Rehabilitation

HOUSTON, Texas – Linbeck Group has recently completed downtown Houston, Texas’ historic Sunset Coffee Building located at Allen’s Landing near Main and Commerce streets. Purchased by Buffalo Bayou Partnership in 2003, as part of its master plan to transform a 10-mile stretch of the neglected Buffalo Bayou into a thriving waterfront, the 12,700-square-foot former coffee-roasting facility required extensive work to rehabilitate the 1910 industrial building. Western Specialty Contractors Completes Historic Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary Project

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – When the main cell house building at the historic Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary in San Francisco, California, was constructed in 1910-1912, prison workers mixed salt water from the surrounding San Francisco Bay and brick rubble in the concrete support beams. Coupled with the island’s extreme weather conditions, the large, cast-in-place concrete support beams in the original citadel and basement shower room areas that support the main cellblock structures began to deteriorate and fail, posing major structural damage to the historic building.
