NREL Selects Design-Build Contractor for Newest Laboratory

The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory has chosen JE Dunn Construction with its design partner SmithGroup to design and build a new research facility on the east side of its South Table Mountain Campus in Golden, Colorado. The 127,000-square-foot Energy Materials and Processing at Scale laboratory will be a signature facility that will enable collaboration with industry partners, universities and other DOE laboratories to accelerate laboratory-scale innovations in energy materials to market-ready products and processes. New Kansas City International Airport Terminal Brings Enhanced Air Travel Experience to Region

In February, the first flights departed from the new single terminal at Missouri’s Kansas City International Airport, marking the end of a five-year development, design and construction effort and ushering in a new era of air travel in the region. Department of State Announces Design-Build Construction Award for U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe

The Department of State has awarded B.L. Harbert International the Design-Build construction contract for the new U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi (Africa). Miller Hull Partnership is the design architect. The new campus, managed by Overseas Buildings Operations, will provide a secure, sustainable and resilient platform for advancing U.S. and Malawi shared interests on democratic, accountable governance; fostering economic growth through the private sector and supporting Malawi’s development, primarily through health and education.

Department of State Breaks Ground on New Office Annex for U.S. Embassy in Bangkok

The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the new office annex for the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. Chargé d’Affaires Michael Heath and Director-General Witchu Vejjajiva of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs were joined by other distinguished guests for the ceremony.
