Two Premier Midwest Construction Firms Merge as Black and Dew

SAINT PAUL, Minn.— Minnesota-based construction firms LS Black and Dew Corporation today announced their merger. Both leadership teams proclaim this as a convergence of equals that builds upon industry-recognized strengths in the government, institutional and commercial sectors. Providing continuity of leadership, Sterling Black and Robert Dew will remain at the helm of Black and Dew.

“The merger brought together two teams of smart, experienced leaders. We know the time is right,” said Robert Dew, president of Black and Dew. “In the current economic climate, we saw even greater need for the collective services, efficiency and delivery our firms were both known for. This brings it all together in one package.”
Providing a Midwest-centric breadth of talent, the merger is aimed at increasing market sector capabilities and building on communication and core contracting competencies.
“We’ve been embedded in the Minnesota marketplace for decades. This is a positive move for our current and future clients as we look to larger and more complex projects. Our philosophies, work cultures and styles are very similar,” added Sterling Black, CEO. “It’s all about our clients and project owners and what they want to build. We make it happen.”
Black and Dew combines professionals from multiple construction and contracting disciplines to work on governmental, institutional, corporate, commercial, mixed-use, education, health care and community projects.
