Raleigh, N.C. — Brasfield & Gorrie's Raleigh, N.C. office recently earned its first ever Gold Award from the North Carolina Department of Labor. Brian Swinks, senior safety manager, accepted the award on behalf of Raleigh's 128 office and field employees.
“I take no greater joy than helping this region grow and improve their safety performance, and I think this debut award for us is great testimony to our level of commitment,” said Swinks.Triangle Safety Gold Awards are given to local companies who achieve a DART rate that is at least 50 percent below the statewide rate for its industry. The rate includes cases of days away from work, restricted activity or job transfer. The Triangle Safety Awards banquet recognized several businesses in the capital city, Research Triangle Park and surrounding areas for excellence in workplace safety and health.
Million-Hour Awards were also distributed to companies who achieved one million hours, or multiples thereof, with no lost-time workplace accidents. Brasfield & Gorrie is currently on track to achieve one million hours in November 2013. As of May 1, the team has tracked 781,041 hours of no lost-time workplace accidents.
