Hill & Wilkinson has been selected as the general contractor for The Retail Connection’s new 750,000-square-foot retail development, The Village at Cumberland Park, in Tyler, Texas. Ground was recently broken on the 80-acre property, which will consist of retail, hospitality and service businesses.
The Village at Cumberland Park is expected to support Tyler’s trade area of approximately 400,000-500,000 shoppers from throughout East Texas.
“This is a unique, highly visible retail project, and we are pleased to have been selected by The Retail Connection for it,” said Hill & Wilkinson’s
Senior Vice President Rob Dixon. “The impact of this project on the local economy is also significant, and we are honored to be a part of Tyler’s growth.”
Hodges & Associates is the architect for the project. The first phase of The Village at Cumberland Park is expected to open in the summer of 2014.
When complete, it is expected to create more than 2,000 new jobs for the city of Tyler and generate more than $200 million in sales and $3 million in sales taxes annually.
