RICHARDSON, Texas — Hill & Wilkinson has been awarded the Texas Mutual Safety Trophy for 2013 for its outstanding commitment to safety in the workplace.
According to Joe Yurkovich, senior vice president of strategic planning and policyholder services for Texas Mutual Insurance Company, “Safety is clearly a core value for Hill & Wilkinson.”
Texas Mutual has more than 57,000 policyholders. In 2013, the firm identified a select group of companies for their outstanding safety records. The companies were chosen based on the workplace hazards that employees are exposed to and the priority placed on safety at the highest levels of management to train and protect their employees.
Hill & Wilkinson attributes its outstanding safety record to the company's employee-focused safety culture. Safety inspections, trends and issues are tracked and analyzed using a web-based system and then communicated companywide. “At Hill & Wilkinson, safety is a core company value with top management involvement and support,” says Bill Reeves, vice president of safety and risk management.
Says Reeves, “We are honored to receive this award from Texas Mutual. We believe our policies, procedures and training programs should be clear, simple and applied. Our employees embrace these programs because they realize their importance in our professional work, as well as our personal lives,” says Reeves.
