ATLANTA, Ga. — Brasfield & Gorrie has completed Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral’s Riverside EpiCenter in Austell, Ga. The $33-million multipurpose facility will offer programs and activities for the entire community.
“This building will benefit people of all ages, and it is certain to become a focal point in the community,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Division Manager Ben Barfield.
Brasfield & Gorrie’s Atlanta office teamed with Pieper O”Brien Herr Architects and Word of Faith to build the two-story, 112,000-square-foot facility that totaled $27.2 million in construction costs. It features a 600-seat auditorium for plays and other productions, a six-lane bowling alley, a youth center with an arcade and computer stations, recording and dance studios and a café and food court.
Also, the facility has a gym, lockers, indoor overhead walk/run track and a full-service health club that includes a spa, saunas and steam rooms.
Sustainable design and construction techniques were used throughout the project, which is seeking LEED Silver certification.
Located across from the church’s main entrance, the center held a grand opening event on Jan. 4.
