CHICAGO, Ill. — Clayco has begun work on a new Keesler Federal Credit Union branch in Gautier, Miss. The 4,675-square-foot building is expected to be completed in August 2014. This location replaces the branch previously located inside the Singing River Mall.
The Gautier facility makes use of the prototype concept and closely follows the design of the Keesler Federal Credit Union branch in Long Beach, Miss. Forum Studio, Clayco’s design firm, will serve as the architect for the project, and work is being performed by Gulf Coast area building trades. Features include a children’s play area, and single-key vault access for safe deposit boxes which grants access to members without a vault attendant. The drive-up lanes will also have two-way video screens so the member and teller can easily communicate.
“We are excited that Keesler has chosen Clayco to implement another branch for their expanding network. The new branch will provide state of the art banking technologies to Keesler’s members in Gautier, along with the ability to remain functional during emergencies,” said Tom Mooney, project director for Clayco.
To withstand severe weather events, special impact-resistant glazing will be used. An emergency generator will also be installed to provide full building power during service interruptions. In addition, architectural pre-cast concrete panels will be used for the exterior walls, which is unique for a building this size.
Representatives from Clayco, Keesler Federal Credit Union and the city of Gautier participated in a groundbreaking ceremony that took place March 14.
