Ramin Cherafat, McCownGordon's chief operating officer, said the new facility will consolidate instructional, research and office space from across campus into a flexible environment.
“The importance of projects like this in the central part of the state is a main reason McCownGordon has opened a Kansas office in Manhattan,” Cherafat said. “It's exciting to be working at a university and in a local and a statewide community strongly committed to the future.”
The K-State Engineering Expansion is more than just another new college building, according to Pat McCown, chief executive officer of the construction firm. “A state economic impact study showed there are an additional 1.78 people employed in Kansas for every engineering professional,” McCown said. “This building will add jobs in Kansas for the long term, and we"re proud to be chosen to build it.”
