“We are very proud to have built numerous hotels throughout the Pacific Northwest,” stated Jim Sather, Oregon division president. “The Residence Inn is the first hotel located in the heart of the Pearl District, and has special meaning because it speaks highly to the continued growth of Portland's urban core — and it is just down the street from our Portland office.”
The six-story, 223-suite hotel, which opened on April 11, provides guests with studio, one- and two-bedroom suites offering 17 different room configurations all equipped with fully functioning kitchens. The hotel, which is in the process of obtaining LEED Silver certification, boasts green-building stats including a highly efficient building envelope, high-efficiency water fixtures and building systems and the use of natural materials throughout the property. Eighty-two percent of all construction waste was also diverted from the landfill.
The new hotel provides guests with amenities like a 16,000-square-foot courtyard with a fire pit, indoor pool, fitness center, guest laundry facilities and lobby lounge. In addition, the hotel has two large meeting rooms and a formal conference room, as well as secure valet parking for guests and visitors.
Developed by Williams/Dame & Associates and designed by SERA Architects, Howard S. Wright served as general contractor for the project providing both preconstruction and construction services.
