The company officially opened its doors June 1 at Stonelake 4, 4030 W. Braker Lane. The 5,100-square-foot office has 11 employees, with room to grow.
“We"ve had projects in the market for some time, but the fact that we"re permanently hanging a shingle represents a significant commitment to the market,” said Kitchell Division Manager Steve Whitworth, who will oversee the new office. Whitworth worked in the Dallas area from 1992 to 1997 and has worked on various projects throughout the Southwest on behalf of Kitchell.
Kitchell's most recent work includes the construction of Scott & White Hospital and Medical Office Building in College Station. Current projects are for Scott & White in Temple and College Station, Lackland Air Force Base and South University in Round Rock (through subsidiary hardison/downey inc.). Its subsidiary, FDI Planning Consultants Inc., has also handled facility transition for the Paris Regional Medical Center.
Kitchell's development team holds approximately 100 acres of undeveloped mixed-use property, the southwest and southeast corners of Highway 290 at Decker Lane and Parmer Commons—all four corners of Parmer Lane and Harris Branch Parkway.
“We"re definitely bullish on the market, and with our diversity of services all under one name, we offer valuable perspective from all aspects of development, construction and operating,” Whitworth said.
Kitchell's 11 other locations throughout the country are in Southern and Northern California, Brentwood, Tennessee, Des Moines, Iowa and its Latin America office in Santiago, Chile.
