ALACHUA, Fla. — NCCER announced Katrina Kersch has been appointed as a senior director and chief operations officer. Kersch started her position June 12 at NCCER’s headquarters in Alachua, Florida.
The senior director/chief operations officer position was created to accommodate the need for additional leadership for the growing organization. She will oversee daily operations of the following departments: Product Development and Revision, Program Services and Credentialing and Compliance Services. Kersch will report directly to NCCER President Don Whyte.
“We are excited to have Katrina join our team,” Whyte said. “As the construction industry continues to grow, we are growing as well. Katrina will be an asset in advancing our mission to build a safe, productive and sustainable workforce of craft professionals.”
Kersch came to NCCER from Marek Family of Companies, a large commercial subcontractor based out of Houston, Texas, and brings with her a wealth of construction workforce development experience. She was the director of workforce development, as well as the NCCER sponsor representative for Marek. Her background also includes serving as director of education for the Construction and Maintenance Education Foundation and executive director of the Construction Career Collaborative.
In addition to being an NCCER master trainer since 2009 and an NCCER certified assessment administrator since 2003, Kersch was the 2010 chairman of NCCER’s Workforce Development Committee and a project manager for NCCER’s “I’m Great” initiative in 2007.
