BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Brasfield & Gorrie recently announced that the company has received a quarterly safety award from the Mobile District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Presented through the Mobile District’s Celebrate Safety initiative, the award recognizes Brasfield & Gorrie’s safety achievements on its NASA Test Stands construction project at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. This project consists of construction of two large stands at Marshall Space Flight Center for testing the fuel tanks and other key hardware for NASA’s new Space Launch System.
This award is the fourth USACE quarterly safety award Brasfield & Gorrie has received. Previous awards recognized Brasfield & Gorrie’s safety successes during its construction of the North Troop Medical Clinic in Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Launched in 1992, the Celebrate Safety program has allowed the Mobile District to continuously maintain an accident frequency rate in its contract work which is well below established goals. The program is constantly improving from year to year. The basic premise of the program is to celebrate successes in safe projects and recognize those responsible.
