PCL Construction Contributes to Seattle Building Boom

SEATTLE, Wash. — PCL Construction Services Inc. has begun construction work on a $190-million, 41-story, mixed-use building, known as Potala Tower Seattle. The project is located between Belltown and South Lake Union of downtown Seattle, Washington, on Fourth Avenue. The architect is Weber Thompson.

Named after the stunning 7th-century Tibetan palace, the 569,000-square-foot complex is designed to be a modern sanctuary where guests can relax in one of 142 hotel rooms, and residents can make a home in one of approximately 340 apartment units. The hotel portion of Potala Tower Seattle, Hotel Indigo, will be a boutique hotel celebrating Seattle’s Belltown and South Lake Union neighborhoods.

The ground level of the tower will hold the hotel lobby and the restaurant, which will feature a prominent local chef. Other levels will include meeting rooms, a pet lounge, fitness facilities, an outdoor lounge and a sky terrace. Levels 11 through 41 will be luxury apartment units featuring unobstructed views of Elliot Bay. The tower will offer guests and residents great access to downtown, Lake Union, the Olympic Mountains and the Space Needle.

Construction of Potala Tower Seattle has already begun and is scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2017.
