BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Naval Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division recently presented Mitchell Industrial Contractors, Inc./Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, a joint venture, with its quarterly FEAD Cherry Point Walt Baer Safety Award and Safety Letter of Recognition. The joint venture received the award for its excellent safety performance, proactive approach and ongoing commitment to safety on the Cherry Point P163 Marine Air Support Squadron Complex project in Cherry Point, North Carolina.
To date, the joint venture has completed work on the Cherry Point P163 Marine Air Support Squadron Complex with zero DART (days away, restricted or transferred) incidents. Also, the project received a superior rating on its most recent safety checklist inspection. Lieutenant Commander Kellen Headlee, FEAD director, commended the team for “superb efforts in executing an effective safety program.”
The Cherry Point P163 Marine Air Support Squadron Complex is an 81,000-square-foot headquarters campus, including an office building, maintenance facility and storage facilities. The project is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2016.
