<!—more—>Grosvenor’s Central development will serve as a cornerstone in the continued revitalization of downtown Silver Spring that has transformed the surrounding neighborhood into a thriving entertainment, retail and employment district in recent years. The Central project will further enhance the city’s growth, meeting the increased demand for mixed-use developments as the city has emerged as one of the area’s leading places to live and work.
The development will also include 31 below-market rate units and an amenity package for residents incorporating an outdoor pool, indoor/outdoor party room, fully equipped workout facility, pet wash-facility, bike workshop and Wi-Fi café/lounge. By designing spacious and innovative building amenities for residents, Central will offer a meeting place for residents to engage and interact. Located just one block away from the Silver Spring Whole Foods, Central is a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro station at Colesville Road and East-West Highway.
During a recent groundbreaking ceremony, community leaders and local residents were ecstatic at the prospect of what the Central project will add to the city, knowing when complete in the third quarter of 2017, Central will further enhance the pride, appeal and excitement the community offers.
Balfour Beatty has enjoyed a long-standing working relationship with Grosvenor in the United Kingdom, including development of significant portions of Grosvenor’s landmark redevelopment, Liverpool One.
