Hitachi Construction Machinery—Americas has introduced the newest additions to its Dash-6 lineup — the ZX670LC-6 and the ZX870LC-6. The two new excavators are powered by EPA Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV Isuzu engines that feature the latest engine technologies and do not require a diesel particulate filter. FT4 technology employs cooled exhaust gas recirculation, a diesel oxidation catalyst and selective catalytic reduction.
Maintenance has been simplified with features such as a battery disconnect switch, spin-on fuel filters and two additional water separators to maintain long fuel filter life. Engine and hydraulic oil sample ports allow for quick and convenient, proactive maintenance checks. An expansion tank in the cooling system enhances air pursing, provides makeup fluid when needed and improves overall cooling efficiency. This helps the engine perform at peak performance.
