Kitchell Promotes Two Master Builders to General Superintendent

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Kitchell has recently promoted two long-time employees, Dave McDermed and Steve Wilson, to the position of general superintendent.

McDermed has worked for Kitchell for close to 14 years. In his 38-plus years in the construction industry, he has delivered more than $1 billion in construction, including notable projects for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, HonorHealth, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, University of Arizona Medical Center, Arizona State University and Banner Health, among many others. McDermed’s successful track record includes technology, industrial, manufacturing, hospitality and mixed-use projects.

Wilson began his career at Kitchell as an apprentice carpenter in 1980. He is committed to exceptional workmanship, leadership and safety. Wilson, too, has worked on more than $1 billion in projects, on medical campuses throughout Arizona and Nevada including St. Rose Dominican Hospitals – Siena Campus, Mountainview Hospital, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Flagstaff Medical Center and Mayo Clinic Hospital, among many others. His experience encompasses some of the largest and most complicated projects in Kitchell history.

As general superintendents McDermed and Wilson will provide leadership, direction, mentoring and training for overall field operations across Kitchell’s diverse portfolio of projects.
