STERLING, Va. – DPR Construction recently hosted more than 500 people at the topping out ceremony for the latest CyrusOne Kincora data center project in Loudoun County, Virginia. In an area known for hosting 70 percent of the world’s internet traffic, CyrusOne is adding nearly 650,000 square feet and 45 MW of critical capacity to the famous “Data Center Alley.”
Members of the DPR Construction and CyrusOne team, along with subcontractors, neighboring businesses and members of the Loudoun County board of supervisors, came together for the celebratory lunch as DPR and CyrusOne thanked the men and women for being a part of delivering one of CyrusOne’s largest ground-up data center project to-date.
“CyrusOne has experienced tremendous growth in Northern Virginia, and our continued expansion in the region reflects our long-term commitment to be the preeminent data center provider in the region,” said Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer, CyrusOne.
When completed, this project will provide nearly 600,000 square feet of customer-ready data center space and a three-story, 55,000-square-foot office building. The first phase being completed by DPR includes a 60,000-square-foot data center with 9 MW critical capacity and is set to be commissioned by May 2017.
