AK-CHIN INDIAN COMMUNITY – Sundt | Yates Construction and Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino celebrated the topping out of a new 12-story, 230-room hotel tower last month. Members of the project team signed the final steel beam before workers placed it on the structure.
When complete, the casino resort expansion will enhance this entertainment venue for the Ak-Chin Indian Community and the surrounding communities of Pinal County, including Maricopa, Arizona. The Design-Build project expands the casino and hotel and adds an 18,000-square-foot banquet and meeting space and 730-car parking garage. There will also be a pedestrian bridge spanning Ak-Chin Parkway to unite the conference center addition with the Ultra Star Family Entertainment Center, creating a seamless entertainment complex that, when complete, will be the largest Indian Gaming venue in Arizona.
A key component of the project has been to make sure the space reflects the Ak-Chin Indian Community and its heritage.
The construction team should complete the casino expansion this fall and the hotel tower should be finished early next summer.
