ATLANTA, Ga. – Associated General Contractors Georgia names Choate Superintendent Bo Webb as recipient of the 2018 Safety Leadership Award based on his outstanding commitment to jobsite safety and leadership. The AGC Safety Leadership Award is presented annually to one field supervisor who demonstrates a commitment to providing a safe work environment, building a safety culture, shows uncompromising leadership and caring for and respecting fellow workers.
Having led over 1.1 million square feet of projects with Choate alone, Webb consistently upholds an excellent safety record. With four decades of construction experience, Webb’s extensive background in the industry allows him to guide and share his wealth of knowledge with the next generation of construction professionals.
The ultimate goal on all of Webb’s projects is to make sure his team is safe so they can return home to their families. “I will never compromise on my team’s worth; they are valuable to me because someone, somewhere loves them and they are counting on me to love them enough to send them home at night,” Webb says.
Webb’s attention to detail and investment in the safety of his team is recognized from the moment he walks on a jobsite. “Everything Bo does regarding safety is because he truly cares and wants everyone to go home to their families,” explains Choate Project Manager Amanda Watts-Anderson. “I have seen Bo stop and talk to someone about their PPE, no matter their title, and show them safer work techniques. There is no hierarchy when it comes to safety.”
During his tenure in the industry, Webb has been exposed to a variety of jobsites—each with their own challenges. Throughout the years, and no matter the challenge, keeping his team safe has always taken precedence.
