DELAWARE, Ohio – Officials from Olentangy Local School District, Gilbane Building Company and the community came together recently to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the newly completed Olentangy Berlin High School, located in Delaware, Ohio. This building is the fourth high school for Olentangy and will house 1,700 students.
Gilbane served as construction manager at-risk for the $61.7-million project, which includes a new high school and several athletic fields. The 303,000-square-foot, two-story high school features an open collaboration area to allow shared-learning spaces for grades 9-12. The school has 28 classrooms, a media center with a collaboration studio, band and music suite, an 800-seat auditorium with stage, cafeteria and student dining/commons area, main gymnasium with seating for more than 2,600 and a 1,300-seat auxiliary gymnasium with locker rooms and administration offices.
The campus also includes synthetic football and practice fields with concession stands and stadium seating for 5,600, two baseball fields, two softball fields, a practice field, four tennis courts, shot-put/disc field and four soccer fields.
