Nora Kelly, assistant project manager at Consigli Construction Co., and Kim Silvestri, a project executive at BOND, have both been recognized as recipients of the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts’ Building Women in Construction 2019 Inspire Awards. The awards are designed to recognize and celebrate the most exemplary women in construction who demonstrate leadership, generosity, innovation and unwavering commitment to their careers, colleagues and industry.
Kelly was selected a winner of the Rising Star of the Year Award. She has worked on laboratories for AbbVie Bioresearch Corporation and UMass Medical Center and has focused on several projects at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. To date, she has worked on more than 20 projects at the hospital’s campus and is consistently recognized by team members for her attention to detail on these fast-paced healthcare projects.
Silvestri, project executive at BOND, was honored with the BWiC Mentor of the Year Award. She is an experienced mentor and trailblazer for many women in the construction industry and has more than 20 years of construction management experience. Silvestri is a big advocate of mentorship, both inside and outside of work. She co-founded the BOND Women’s Professional Group in 2018 to help women find their voice in the company. In addition, Silvestri leads the BOND Professional Learning Exchange, a group for minority and women business owners to learn about the construction industry. She mentors and helps educate women in the local communities, empowering them to develop, grow and prosper. She initiated a partnership with the Center for Women and Enterprise and teaches courses to help women start their own business. She also is on the board of directors for the ACE Mentoring Program, which is a program that mentors local high school students to inspire them to pursue a career in design and construction.
