Field Superintendent – Westwood Contractors

We are seeking experienced construction field superintendents with significant experience in one or more of our core markets: retail, specialty healthcare, high-end office space, storage facility, hospitality, and restaurant facilities. In this position, heavy travel is required for the management of projects across the United States, working with our exclusive client list, consisting of the most well-known brand names in America. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Our field superintendents are the foundation of Westwood’s success in achieving its vision of being the most trusted source of quality construction services nationally. As the company’s sole on-site presence for each project, our superintendents have primary responsibility for safety, quality control, scheduling, coordinating and overseeing all project activities from site layout through punch list completion. Supported by our project managers who handle contract administration, along with the rest of our administrative team, our superintendents oversee the timely completion of each project ensuring that quality and budget goals are achieved. Being a motivated self-starter who approaches every assignment with a sense of urgency and finds ways to creatively achieve demanding budgets and time constraints, while directing the activities of others, will be attributes of the successful candidate.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Key skill requirements include having advanced knowledge in construction layout, advanced blueprint reading, as well as work sequencing and scheduling. Strong verbal and written communication, the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of subcontractors, while upholding all job site safety practices is critical. This position requires the ability to use technologies such as all Microsoft products, Dropbox, and other related programs. The ability to communicate in Spanish and having experience with LEAN scheduling techniques are a strong plus. Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial construction in increasingly responsible roles and with at least 3 years of superintendent level experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
