Heart’s Place Apartments, a supportive housing complex in Arlington Heights, Illinois, was recently completed on behalf of the Housing Opportunity Development Corporation and UP Development. A ribbon cutting was held at the project site to celebrate the grand opening of the new facility. McShane Construction Company served as general contractor, and Cordogan Clark & Associates as architect of record.
Heart’s Place Apartments will act as permanent housing for families, targeting people who live with a mental illness or other disability that requires access to support services. It is located in a well-established area that offers convenient access to stores, banks, recreational areas, healthcare facilities and public schools. This will provide tenants with the opportunity to find employment in a variety of industries close to home. Additionally, tenants will have access to a suburban PACE bus route with a stop just a block from the complex.
The 18,790-square-foot complex is located on a site that was vacant for more than a decade prior to its construction. Heart’s Place incorporates 18 one- and two-bedroom units into two stories with wood frame construction.
Additionally, there is an onsite laundry room, a community room and support staff offices. The grounds of the property feature ample parking and attractive landscaping for tenants to enjoy.
