Associated Builders and Contractors Recognizes Best in Construction, Safety

Associated Builders and Contractors recently recognized the following contractors for excellence in construction and safety. Awards will be presented during the 30th annual ABC Convention on Aug. 18 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award
Trellis Centennial, Las Vegas, Nevada

Trellis Centennial is an all-new, 42,327-square-foot short-term rehabilitation facility featuring 72 private rooms. Patients will enjoy private bathrooms with private showers, rehabilitation gym, expansive common areas and a spacious courtyard.

National Safety Excellence Merit Award

The 2019 National Safety Excellence Award winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum and Gold status in ABC’s STEP Safety Management System in 2019. During the selection process, contractors were judged on self-evaluation scores, lost workday case rates, total recordable incident rates, leading indicator use, process and program innovations and video interviews conducted by members of ABC’s National Safety and Health Committee.

Excellence in Construction Eagle Award
Frost Tower, Fort Worth, Texas

The Frost Tower team earned its top-tier award in the $2-10 million mechanical construction category. Frost Tower is Fort Worth’s first completed skyscraper in the past decade. This 25-story luxury, mixed-use tower includes 14 levels of parking, 250,000 square feet of office space, 45,000 square feet of amenities and various accents and high-end finishes.

Construction Pyramid Award
Texas Scottish Rite for Children Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Center, Frisco, Texas

The Texas Scottish Rite Frisco campus project earned a Pyramid Award in the $10-million-plus mechanical contractor category. This put it in direct competition with some of the largest construction projects across the nation. This five-story medical facility is Texas Scottish Rite’s first major expansion outside of its home base in Dallas. Certified as a 23-hour building, this 350,000-square-foot facility offers a motion-capture lab, rehabilitation suites, guidance and physical therapy to children and their families.
