Barton Malow Senior Superintendent Gary Ey ,CDT, of Abingdon, Maryland, was recently was elected as the public director of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards at its 2020 virtual Annual Business Meeting. NCARB is a nonprofit organization made up of the architectural licensing boards of the 55 U.S. states and territories. The organization’s mission is to collaborate with those boards to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public by facilitating the licensure and credentialing of architects. As a member of NCARB’s board of directors, Ey will provide the board with a valuable outside perspective.
Ey was first appointed to the Maryland Board of Architects in 2003, and serves as a co-chair of the Complaint Committee for the board. He has been a valuable member of several NCARB committees since 2016, including the Credentials, Education and Experience committees, and has been actively engaged with NCARB’s community of public members.
In addition to his service to NCARB, Ey has volunteered for the Harford County Public School System as a member of their Career & Technology Education Committee, where he monitored magnet school programs to ensure they aligned with current industry practice. He is involved in his local community and has previously served both his church and multiple homeowners associations.
