Construction Starts on Behavioral Health Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania

Construction has started on Acadia Geisinger Behavioral Health Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania. The 72,578-square-foot facility will include 96 patient beds and serve more than 1.2 million people across 45 counties in Pennsylvania.

The new hospital will also be a teaching hospital, training students and residents from Geisinger’s College of Health Sciences. Completion is slated for spring 2025. The project team includes Warfel Construction and Stengel Hill Architecture.

The new hospital will focus on delivering essential care for individuals grappling with behavioral health disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis and post-traumatic stress disorder. The facility will offer a beacon of hope and a path to recovery for adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients.
