Choate’s Charleston, South Carolina team has joined the ACE Mentorship Program, directly engaging with local high school students to educate, inspire and build up the future generation of industry leaders. Choate served as a “Friends of ACE CHS” sponsor and participated in various events throughout the spring semester.
The ACE Mentorship program serves to promote and introduce students to careers within the AEC industry, as well as the entire process behind producing successful construction projects.
Offering real-world insights into architecture, engineering and construction careers and facilitating tours of active projects, the program allowed students to learn in-depth about the entire construction process, from designing to budgeting, scheduling and building projects to scale.
At the culmination of the program, students had the opportunity to transform ideas into reality, presenting their own projects in a competition to showcase all they learned in design, planning and budgeting with a scholarship awarded to the best overall.
Congratulations to the winner — McKenzie Pettigrew — and all program participants.
