General contractor McCarthy Building Companies recently completed the fully commissioned AZ13 building for Vantage Data Centers, a provider of hyperscale data center campuses. AZ13 is the third of five planned data centers at Vantage’s AZ1 campus in Goodyear to be constructed and delivered by McCarthy’s Mission Critical team. The team is simultaneously celebrating the topping out of AZ14 on the same campus, which is expected to complete in summer 2026.
When fully developed, the 50-acre campus will offer hyperscalers and large cloud providers 176MW of critical IT load across five data centers totaling more than 1 million square feet. Vantage is investing more than $1.5 billion into the development, which is expected to employ approximately 3,000 construction and technology individuals throughout its lifecycle.
Many of the Goodyear campus’ features are based on Vantage’s standardized campus blueprint, emphasizing sustainable construction practices. The campus is designed to use virtually no water for cooling, instead employing a closed-loop chilled water system that allows for reduced energy use based on outside ambient temperature. The campus is on track to achieve Green Globe certification.
Key construction design and trade partners on AZ13 include Corgan Architects, Rosendin Electric, Southland Industries and Amfab Steel.
