Construction Volunteers Team Up to Build Walls for Habitat for Humanity House in Ohio

AGC Charities Inc., Kokosing and United Rentals teamed up to lead dozens of volunteers from across the country to assemble the walls for a new house being built by Habitat for Humanity Delaware and Union Counties. The volunteer workday at Kokosing’s campus in Westerville, Ohio involved cutting wood and assembling the various pieces into prefabricated walls that will be erected on land owned by Habitat for Humanity for a deserving family.

The volunteers who participated in the charity project are all members of the Associated General Contractors of America. Many volunteers arrived early into the area to participate in the project prior to attending the association’s annual convention, which took place April 8-10 at the Columbus Convention Center.

Much of the work and donated supplies were arranged by Kokosing with the help of United Rentals and AGC Charities Inc. In addition to building the walls for the house, the group donated all the required lumber for the new house and provided additional funds to Habitat for Humanity to help with the final assembly of the house.

Funding for the project came from donations by individual members of the Associated General Contractors of America, as well as support from United Rentals and Kokosing. AGC Charities is the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, the national association for the construction industry.
