The Post-Tensioning Institute will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout 2026. Founded in 1976, PTI has spent five decades advancing the quality, safety and use of post-tensioned concrete construction.
The year-long celebration will honor the institute’s history of innovation and its contributions to the construction industry. A key focus of the anniversary festivities will be the 2026 PTI Convention, scheduled to take place May 4-7 in Long Beach, California.
The convention will feature a special 50th anniversary gala, a “Hall of Innovation” interactive exhibit showcasing the evolution of post-tensioning technology and limited-edition giveaways for all attendees.
In addition to the convention events, there will be celebratory events and materials all year long, such as a monthly “Did You Know?” social media series looking back on the history of PTI and the post-tensioning industry, exclusive webinars and podcasts featuring industry pioneers, interviews with PTI leaders and long-standing members, an article in the PTI JOURNAL, a special edition 50th Anniversary logo and more. These activities are designed to reflect on the institute’s legacy and build excitement for its future.
