ACI Hosts Spanish-Language Concrete Field, Strength Testing Certification Sessions at Southern California Resource Center

The American Concrete Institute has conducted its first Spanish-language certification exams for Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 and Concrete Strength Testing Technician at the ACI Southern California Resource Center.

The exams provided Spanish-speaking professionals the opportunity to earn internationally recognized ACI certifications in their primary language, helping remove barriers to participation while maintaining ACI’s technical standards.

The Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification validates an individual’s knowledge and ability to properly perform and record the results of seven basic field tests on freshly mixed concrete, while the Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification focuses on an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform, record and report the results of four basic laboratory procedures related to the determination of concrete compressive and flexural strength. Both certifications are widely recognized across the industry and are often required by project specifications, agencies and employers.

The Spanish-language exams followed the same standardized ACI certification program structure, including written and performance components, ensuring consistency with English-language offerings. Exams were administered by ACI-certified examiners and conducted in accordance with ACI Certification policies.

Demand for Spanish-language certification opportunities continues to grow as the concrete industry seeks to attract, develop and retain skilled professionals. ACI’s Southern California Resource Center, one of ACI’s three Resource Centers for education, training and certification, served as an ideal location for launching this initiative.

Building on the success of this first administration, ACI plans to continue expanding Spanish-language certification offerings and explore additional opportunities to serve the global and multilingual concrete workforce.
