HPM joined the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Alabama State Parks and project partners on Friday, Oct. 16, to celebrate the dedication and ribbon cutting of the new Lodge at Cheaha State Park.
Set atop Cheaha Mountain in Delta, Alabama, the new 32-room lodge pairs modern accommodations with a design rooted in its surroundings, creating a guest experience defined by sweeping views of the Talladega National Forest and direct access to the natural beauty of Cheaha State Park. Each of the lodge’s guest rooms features a private balcony overlooking the surrounding landscape.
HPM provided program management, project management, preconstruction services and field coordination, working alongside Chambless King Architects and Murray Construction to help bring the State’s vision for the property to life.
One of the project’s defining features is its mass timber construction. The lodge incorporates Alabama-sourced southern yellow pine into a design that blends rustic materials with a contemporary aesthetic, creating a distinct sense of place while celebrating the landscape of Cheaha Mountain.
Beyond its guest rooms, the the property features a rooftop bar, a bluff-side observation pavilion and spaces suited for weekend getaways, family trips, weddings and corporate gatherings.
