The National Association of Women in Construction recognized Brasfield & Gorrie for its safety program and excellent record of workplace safety. “Safety is our top corporate value,” said Project Manager Virnetta Greene-Woodbury, who accepted the award this summer at the organization's 2013 Safety Excellence Awards ceremony in Bellevue, Wash.
NAWIC noted that employees of Brasfield & Gorrie are required to participate in continuous safety training programs and exercises, and the company regularly communicates messages about the importance of safe practices through internal emails, newsletters and poster campaigns.
Also, Brandon Riddick-Seals, Brasfield & Gorrie business development manager, is recipient of the Advocacy Award from the Georgia Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors. According to NAMC, the award is designed to recognize individuals who support and advocate for the development of minority businesses. It was presented the NAMC 2013 Hard Hat Awards Banquet in Atlanta, Ga.
“These awards underscore Brasfield & Gorrie's commitment to two of our core values: people and safety,” said Brasfield & Gorrie CEO Jeff Stone. “We are honored that these two organizations, whose missions support diversity and inclusion, consider our efforts worthy of recognition.”
