ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Mike Kappel has been named general manager of the concrete division for St. Louis, Mo.-based Byrne & Jones Construction Co.
Kappel joined Byrne & Jones in 2002 as a project manager and most recently was director of operations for the Byrne & Jones asphalt division. He will oversee operations for Byrne & Jones” concrete division, which performs concrete flatwork and foundation construction for commercial, industrial and institutional customers.
Among its largest assignments are concrete projects for Ballpark Village, Washington University, the Galleria, Hazelwood East High School, Friendship Village senior living communities, Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., Drury Inn and more. The concrete division employs 40 people.
Kappel holds a degree in construction management from Purdue University.
