22 Capital Partners has chosen the project team for its more than $500-million development “Gramercy District,” a smart city project located just outside of Washington, D.C.
The firm has put together a team capable of implementing the vision of a marriage between technology and real estate development to create a smart city of the future. Tishman Construction unit of AECOM will team up with TRINITY Group Construction. DVA Architects will design the Gramercy District campus. This smart city will include a combination of outdoor plazas and public spaces where consumers can seamlessly interact with all of the businesses. Greystar Corporation completes the formation of the core team and will provide preconstruction consulting and property management services. These four firms join existing project team members Bowman Consulting Group, McGuire Woods, PC and Benton Potter & Murdock, PC.
This announcement follows a prior announcement from 22 Capital Partners about the formation of 22 CityLink, a technology company providing the smart city platform for the development of Gramercy District.
Other partners include Microsoft, the Center for Innovative Technology and the George Washington University.
