GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. – Haselden Construction recently celebrated the topping out of the W Hotel in Aspen, Colorado. The new resort—which will include 88 guest rooms, 11 fractional residences, a rooftop pool and spa and speakeasy-style nightclub—will be a “modern chalet” for Aspen Mountain.
Being built on the site of the former Sky Hotel, the W Aspen will offer guests and residents slope-side access to Aspen Mountain along with a state-of-the-art ski shop, outdoor patio and fire pits for après and a spacious 12,000-square-foot rooftop pool and bar with picturesque views of the ski resort. Rowland + Broughton designed the hotel and residences to be a mix of “urban style with mountain spirit” to provide a vibrant and invigorating experience for locals and visitors.
Haselden Construction used innovative techniques to manage the project site and ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding community, including a coordinated flow schedule for equipment and crews and its own self-perform concrete division to maintain quality and safety on the jobsite.
The W Aspen is slated to open in summer 2019.
