Construction Association Strives to Bring Contractors Safely Home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry met with Carolinas AGC members recently to applaud the association’s efforts to reduce the number of construction jobsite accidents through its education and safety training efforts—including the most recent initiative, Safely Home.

Safely Home core components include an alliance agreement with North Carolina Department of Labor; a commitment to eliminate obstacles to employers by offering appropriate and affordable safety training; establishing single safety training pricing for association members and non-members; free work zone safety training; a construction safety conference and sharing construction-related safety resources with everyone in the industry.

“Nothing you do is more important than safety—and CAGC is to be commended for your Safely Home campaign,” the commissioner said. (Watch the short video of Labor Commissioner Berry speaking on CAGC’s safety efforts.)
