ST. LOUIS, MO — The American Society of Concrete Contractors awarded its highest Fleet Safety Award to L. Keeley Construction, Sauget, Ill. The winners were selected on the basis of the number of miles driven and number of accidents in 2009. L. Keeley Construction accumulated 2,160,000 miles for 2009 with zero accidents.
Certificates of Recognition were awarded to 12 other ASCC members.
– For contractors driving up to 499,000 miles in 2009: Edwards Concrete Co., Winter Garden, Fla.; Epiphany Construction Services, Thornwood, N.Y.; Royal Coat, Morehead City, N.C.; and Burgess Concrete Construction, Moline, Mich.
– For contractors driving 500,000 to 999,000 miles in 2009: Citadel Contractors, Apex, N.C.; Middle Georgia Concrete Construction, Atlanta, Ga.; Procon, Rocky Mount, Va.; and Morley Construction Co., Santa Monica, Calif.
– For contractors driving one million miles or more in 2009: Prus Construction Co., Cincinnati, Ohio; Lindsay-Lampasona, Norfolk, Mass.; Wayne Brothers, Kannapolis, N.C.; and Kent Companies, Grand Rapids, Mich.
The ASCC Safety & Risk Management Council educates contractors on all aspects of safety relating to concrete contracting and insurance matters. The Council also provides oversight on safety publications and events.
The ASCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of those who build with concrete, and to providing them a unified voice in the construction industry. Members include concrete contracting firms, manufacturers, suppliers and others interested in the concrete industry such as architects, specifiers and distributors.
