Medtronic Breaks Ground on New Colorado Campus

Medtronic, local community leaders and general contractor Ryan Companies officially broke ground on construction of Medtronic’s new Innovation Center campus located in Lafayette, Colo.

Development and construction teams have begun work on the new 42-acre campus, soon to be the second largest site for the company in the U.S., and home to critical research and development work to improve the lives of patients worldwide. The campus will include two five-story buildings spanning more than 400,000 square feet. Upon completion of the new site – which is anticipated during the second half of 2022 – the new campus will open 1,100 new jobs and unite employees from the existing locations.

The new campus comes with an innovative design to align with Medtronic’s commitment to a sustainable, healthy, comfortable and productive workplace. As a nod to the site’s natural surroundings, sustainable features were top of mind when planning the campus. Employees will enjoy various amenities throughout the campus, which includes 60,000 square feet of research and development/lab space and dedicated training areas. The site is conveniently next to public transportation, a three-quarter mile recreation loop and quick access to trails.
