Construction is complete on FORUM, a nine-story, 350,000-square-foot life sciences development in Boston, Massachusetts’ Allston-Brighton neighborhood. Tradesman Coffee Shop & Lounge is now open on the building’s ground floor. Visitors to the building can also enjoy a community-oriented art exhibition.
Developed by Lendlease and constructed by Consigli, FORUM is the first purpose-built life sciences facility in Boston Landing. Designed by SGA, the building offers a 60/40 split between lab and office space and includes a dynamic mix of public and private meeting areas. Thoughtfully integrated into the surrounding neighborhood, FORUM features a publicly accessible ground floor where both Tradesman and the art exhibition are located, along with additional space for community programming.
FORUM offers tenant amenities on its third floor including a shared kitchen and dining area, as well as a 7,000-square-foot terrace with cabanas, seating areas, grilling stations and high-speed Wi-Fi. Meeting and collaboration spaces equipped with A/V capabilities accommodate conferences and meetings of all sizes.
Aligned with the developer’s sustainability commitments, FORUM incorporates numerous environmental innovations designed to achieve LEED Platinum, WiredScore Platinum and Fitwell certification, as well as net-zero operations. The development also recently qualified for the highest-tier energy savings under the Mass Save program due to its high-performance building design.
Located in the heart of the Boston Landing mixed-use district, FORUM provides multimodal transit access, including proximity to the Massachusetts Turnpike; MBTA Commuter Rail, whose Boston Landing station is .2 miles from the building and MBTA bus routes offering service to downtown Boston and Cambridge. Bluebikes, Boston’s public bike-share program, also has a station located on Guest Street.
Through a partnership with MassBioEd, a nonprofit education foundation focused on workforce development in the life sciences industry, common areas will host programs aimed at educating area students and career seekers about the life sciences industry and equipping them with skills to pursue careers in the field.
