ViaWest Group Expands Industrial Footprint in Utah With 9 South Commerce Center

ViaWest Group has broken ground on 9 South Commerce Center, a two-building, 172,438-square-foot industrial development in Salt Lake City. Willmeng Construction is serving as general contractor. Completion is anticipated in mid-2027.

Located on 10 acres at the northwest corner of 2700 West and 900 South, the project is zoned M-2 (Heavy Manufacturing), and the buildings are designed to be LEED certified and provide modern industrial users with what they require. 9 South Commerce is centrally located, within minutes of major highways and less than 2 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport and the Salt Lake Intermodal Hub.

Designed by AE Urbia Architects and Engineers and CIR Civil Engineering, will feature 32-foot clear heights, an abundance of dock doors and ample power availability. Building One is divisible to 16,800 square feet, has 32 dock-high doors and three grade-level doors. Building Two is divisible to 14,000 square feet, with 28 dock-high doors and five grade-level doors. Both buildings will feature 1,500 square feet of expandable office space, high-efficiency warehouse LED lighting, ESFR sprinkler systems, 6-inch reinforced floor slabs, concrete tilt-up construction and a 180-foot shared truck court.
