SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — One of the nation's largest employee-owned construction companies, Pizzagalli Construction Company, announced plans to change its official name to PC Construction Company as of June 1.
The renaming comes as the company's founding brothers, Angelo, Jim, and Remo, have become less and less involved with the company on a daily basis. The brothers had formally transitioned leadership responsibilities to the company's senior officials in 1998, and gradually divested their ownership in the company to allow it to become 100-percent employee owned in 2009.
This change further reflects their plans to step down from the company's Board of Directors within the next year. This announcement also coincides with the company's move to a new corporate headquarters in its current city of South Burlington, Vt.
“Internally, we"ve been referring to ourselves as "PC" for decades, starting even with our trademark corporate logo,” said Peter Bernhardt, President of PC Construction Company. “Our new name carries on that tradition while respecting our founders" wishes to put the company's future into the capable hands of its seasoned leaders and employee-owners.”
PC Construction Company is a 100 percent employee-owned company specializing in general construction, construction management, and design/build services for public and private clients of all sizes. The company's market specialties include water and wastewater treatment plants and buildings and facilities, as well as energy-related projects. Founded in 1958, PC Construction Company is headquartered in South Burlington, VT, with regional offices in Portland, ME and Garner, NC, and project sites throughout the eastern United States.
