Korte Lands Downtown Tenant Improvement Project for Children's Museum

LAS VEGAS, Nev. —The Korte Company has been selected to complete the unique tenant improvement project of the Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas. The downtown area of Las Vegas has often been overlooked and so the area is being sculpted into a premier destination for families to work, live and play with announcements of Zappo’s relocation there and the opening of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

One of the community's major cultural and educational destinations in the downtown area is the Lied Discovery Children's Museum. Since opening its doors in 1990, the children's museum has been a fun and interactive place for families to grow and learn about the world. The museum is keeping its commitment to downtown Las Vegas and joining the resurgence of the area. This new facility is going in the newly opened Symphony Park complex, the 61-acre redevelopment area in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas directly adjacent to the Smith Center for Performing Arts facility. This move calls for new construction under the new name of the Donald W. Reynolds Children's Discovery Museum.

The Korte Company was selected to undertake the 54,000-square-foot tenant improvement project. The new museum will provide nine distinct exhibition areas including the Summit, a multi-story exploration area that will be able to house the greatest of traveling exhibits. The permanent WOW Tower also included in the work is located in the open three-story atrium. The tower will allow children to climb and explore over five stories in height taking them through the roof of the facility to an observation point.

This project will provide a state-of-the-art facility that will stand for progress in the Downtown Las Vegas area and within the hearts and minds of the community. The work is scheduled to be finished later this year. For more details, visit www.korteco.com.
