Turner’s Fourth Quarter Building Cost Index Reflects Strong Market Conditions

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Turner Construction Company’s Fourth Quarter 2016 Turner Building Cost Index—which measures costs in the non-residential building construction market in the United States—has increased to a value of 1006. Construction Unemployment Rates Improve in 38 States Year-Over-Year, ABC Says

WASHINGTON, D.C. — November not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rates were down in 38 states and the nation on a year-over-year basis, according to an analysis recently released by Associated Builders and Contractors. The rates for two states, Kansas and Texas, were unchanged from November 2015. The national NSA construction unemployment rate of 5.7 percent was down 0.5 percent from a year ago and unchanged from October, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Over 30 States Add Construction Jobs Year Over Year November 2015, 2016

Thirty-four states added construction jobs between November 2015 and November 2016 while construction employment increased in 29 states and the District of Columbia during the past month, according to an analysis of Labor Department data recently released by the Associated General Contractors of America.
