CHICAGO, Ill. – Walsh Construction has completed the final phase of the Chicago Riverwalk. Spanning along the main branch of the Chicago River, the path provides a continuous 1.3-mile walkway with public spaces that connects the lakefront to the center of downtown Chicago, Illinois. The newly completed phase adds three new areas of attraction for visitors to enjoy – The Water Plaza, The Jetty and The Boardwalk. Clark Celebrates Opening of National Museum of African American History and Culture

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The grand opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture was recently held. The 409,000-square-foot structure is located on the National Mall adjacent to the Washington Monument. Construction of the museum began in February 2012. The NMAAHC is one of the most unique structures built in Washington, D.C. At five stories tall, the museum’s height is consistent with nearby buildings, but the visible portion of the museum only tells part of the story. AP Receives ABC Excellence in Construction Award for New Joint Training Facility

DENVER, Colo – The Associated Builders and Contractors awarded the city of Aurora, Colorado’s Public Safety Training Center project the 2016 regional Excellence in Construction award for an institutional building between $10 and $25 million. The 23-acre campus consisted of seven different projects to be designed, built and integrated together in a short timeframe. A 1920’s themed gala of industry personnel recognized outstanding construction projects in various categories completed this last year in the Rocky Mountain Region. Report Reveals Construction Worker Perceptions of Worker Safety

Much information about workplace safety and health comes from reports filed by employers. In 2015, the annual National Health Interview Survey included an Occupational Health Supplement – giving workers an opportunity to speak up about safety and health in their workplace. The CPWR Data Center recently analyzed the responses.
