As the benchmark for jobsite dust and dirt collection standards continue to grow, Bosch introduces a portable solution with a new lineup of nine- and 14-gallon vacuums. The VAC090S and VAC090A nine-gallon vacuums and VAC140S and VAC140A 14-gallon vacuums increase dust extraction performance with best-in-class cubic feet of air-per-minute rate and suction power. In addition, the vacuums decrease the loss of suction by offering two options of on-board filter cleaning: semi-automatic and automatic. Nonresidential Construction Index Reaches Record High

NRCI = 64.9 RALEIGH, N.C. — FMI announced the release of the 2014 First Quarter Nonresidential Construction Index report. The NRCI shows a 7.5 point increase since the 2013 fourth quarter report, as well as a 6.8 point increase from Q1 2013. This is the highest NRCI score to date. The increase in score comes from an optimistic view of a rising economy, as nearly half of the participants expect construction to grow up to 5 percent in 2014. Industry Leaders Pledge to Hire Over 100,000 Veterans

ALACHUA, Fla. — Feb. 12, at the first Veterans’ Employment in Construction Symposium, First Lady Michelle Obama and U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez announced that a coalition of construction employers and associations have collectively pledged to hire more than 100,000 veterans over the next five years.
